A Renovation Above Eagle Bay
Set high on the ridge above Eagle Bay's turquoise shoreline, this home was designed around a clear brief: fully renovate the original rear dwelling, link it to a new addition with a lit glass walkway, and have the whole thing read as if it had always been one house. Sweeping views run through the build, with humpbacks regularly passing the property during their northern migration.
Working with the Slope
The fall on the block shaped much of the project. Split storeys follow the natural contour of the site, with an elevator threaded through multiple levels to reach the lowest floor. The original rear home and the new addition meet through a glass walkway that draws light into the centre of the build. Materials and detailing carry across both ends, so the renovation and addition read as one continuous home.
Outdoor Living, Anchored to the Block
The outdoor spaces are built around a raised lap-style pool, a shaded terrace for long lunches, and sunlit decks that open out to the bay. Considered landscaping and integrated stormwater drainage carry the home into its setting rather than fighting it. A new ATU replaced the non-compliant septic system, with treated water now irrigating the front gardens.
This Eagle Bay home is a considered renovation that respects the block, the view, and the way the owners wanted to live in it.
