South West Local with Saltwater in his Veins
Phil Kelleher’s story starts with childhood family holidays where he developed his love of surfing. Phil is now a long-time local, officially making the South West his home in 1996.
Drawn to the coastline, Phil’s love of the ocean and surfing is more than a hobby — it’s a lifestyle that keeps him energised and grounded. Whether it’s chasing clean swells or sharing waves with his daughter, the coastal lifestyle fuels his work and outlook every day.
Passion for Craftsmanship, Built Over Generations
Phil is a carpenter by trade, having completed his apprenticeship in the family business. Building runs deep in the Kelleher bloodline — from his grandfather, a foreman on 1950s Perth landmarks, to ancestors who helped construct some of Adelaide’s earliest churches.
Personal Approach with no Middleman
While many builders grow into bigger operations, Phil has kept things deliberately lean. When you build with Phil, you deal with Phil — not a supervisor or a rotating project manager. It’s a personal approach that his clients appreciate and one that helps keep quality, communication, and consistency at the centre of every build.
Sustainable Homes with Soul
Sustainability isn’t a just buzzword here — it’s a core value. Phil has always leaned toward environmentally conscious design and construction. His work has been recognised with multiple HIA GreenSmart Awards, including a national win almost two decades ago. It’s proof that luxury homes can be beautiful, functional and better for the planet.
A Builder Who Gets the South West Lifestyle
Phil brings a relaxed, relatable energy to the building process. He takes time to understand how clients live — what they love, where they work, and how they unwind — to design homes that truly reflect their lifestyle.
To keep this personal approach, without the need to employ additional staff, Phil only commits to a limited number of projects each year.
“For me, building homes in our great South West isn’t just work — it’s part of a lifestyle I feel lucky to live every day.”
